2014 Recap + 2015 Goals
Well it’s 2015 already, so I thought it’d be a good chance to reflect on what I’ve done in my car and this site over the past year, as well as make some resolutions of sorts for the new year. Overall I couldn’t be happier with the car, and it continues to be a great do-it-all car that is a fun daily driver that can also handle track duty and shows with a moment’s notice…
I also continue to find being part of the automotive scene to be very rewarding, and continue to make great friendships through the Audi car community, specifically via Audizine and most recently the San Diego Audi Club (SDAC). To me there is nothing better than hanging out and chatting about cars with a group of likeminded individuals, and I’ve found everyone comes together to help out when someone’s car breaks or they need an opinion on something…anyway, without further adieu, here are my 2014 highlights and 2015 goals!
2014 Highlights
Car wise 2014 consisted of fine tuning my car – with all of the major mods already done (brakes, suspension, tune, etc.) it was really about making small changes to suit my particular taste and driving style, which was nice – I definitely spent less on mods than the previous year. Car meet wise I attended more events through the SDAC and even started branching out to some Orange County and LA events…
- Attended several awesome car shows, including Big SoCal Euro, LA Auto Show, HRE Open House, Arizona Quattro de Mayo, Pure Motorsport Open House, TAG Motorsports Grand Opening, and several local meetups/cars and coffee events
- Installed a JHM Short Shifter, DTM Rear Bumper, oCarbon steering wheel trim, STaSIS exhaust, CF engine covers, reverse LEDs, new floor mats, and I’m sure other little things I’m missing…
- Drove at Streets of Willow (Willow Springs), Targa Trophy San Diego, and a few club drives…
- Wrote 46 posts on this little blog, and plenty of sharing on Facebook and Instagram (although less on Twitter)
2015 Resolutions
2015 has already started out pretty eventful – I redid the clear corner mod on January first, and then went for a drive on the 3rd that resulted in my clutch going out. It’s getting repaired now, and it looks like I’ll be going with the JHM Stage 3 clutch + lightweight flywheel unless anything changes between now and then. When I get my car back, I also hope to get my wheels refinished and new tires installed, continuing to fine tune the car to perfection.
- Make it to at least TWO track days this year, maybe three…
- Stop buying cheap tires, and get some decent rubber (as it turns out, the FK452 are even worse than the FK453, something I didn’t think was physically possible)
- Aim for 50 posts this year on the site, a small improvement but getting more difficult as work gets busier and busier these days…
- Get a proper detail with paint correction, etc.
So that’s that – what’s your automotive resolutions for the new year?

Get some headers, and those lightweight seats nick, I wanna read about that this year
Mike – those are both on my wish list, but both seem insanely expensive for the ROI. I’m hoping to get lucky and find a set either heavily discounted, used, or both, ’cause its probably not going to happen at retail/new prices otherwise 🙂

2014: Replaced drivers seat cover, body repair, chip touch-up, full front Xpel clear cover, valve cover and valley pan gaskets, intake spacers.
2015: Fix coolant leak, after market exhaust system. A tune and wheels are on my wish list but have to compete with kitchen appliance upgrades. It’s so wrong.
Nice, Dewalt! You’ll love the exhaust when you get it, but definitely better to fix those pesky maintenance items first.
’13 I did mounts really
’14 I did Revo St1, JHM HFC, S4 Recaro interior, Wheels and Tires, full brakes, minor bulbs, JOM Smoked LED tail lights, JHM SSK+Linkage, JHM St1 Clutch/Flywheel, rsb+endlinks and now JHM LWCP with my timing belt job
’15 I wanna finish the exhaust, get a FMIC, Lower it, St1 JHM Tune, dye interior and change gauge face
That’s it so far, besides somehow getting a 5.0 by summer
I’m shocked you’ve held off so long on the tune! Great mods, I really liked my LWCP.
Xmas, 75k maintenance, misc. Stuff to pay for, this year I’ll be saving a bit for it and get it
My goals for 2015 are:
– Recaros(on past week)
– Cross drilled rotors and B6 S4 Brakes
– Full custom sound system
– S4 Door Blades
– Carbon Fiber Trim from Ocarbon(Thanks Nick for the introduction)
– Blackout door trims and roof rails
– RS4 Pedals(Looking for a deal pedal)
– RS4 Shifter and E-Brake Handle
I’m thinking you’ll get those goals done this year, Moy!
