The Family Stable – Classic Car Pics

I went home for Thanksgiving and we fired up all the cars in the Family Stable to give them some exercise…what a glorious day.

The latest acquistion is a 1963 Ford Thunderbird. Quite an odd/unique color combo, turquoise on turquoise – must be a 60s thing! She has a 390 engine in it, which is surprisingly peppy given how huge the car is.

Next up is the family jewel – a 1939 Rolls Royce Wraith WKC6. One of the last cars built before Rolls Royce became completely dedicated to WWII military production, this rare car has been in the family for three generations since 1958. The body is by Inskip and inside and out this towncar is breathtakingly gorgeous.

Next up is our 65 and 67 Mustangs – Merle and Max. Merle (the 65) is a pretty mild resto-mod project with a 289 and auto tranny, while Max is a pretty extreme resto-mod with a 351c, manual transmission, full roll-cage and a bunch of other custom body, performance and suspension mods.

And last but not least our 1954 Packard – this is a real head turner. She’s not in the best shape, but still a joy to cruise in.

  2. I love the Roller and the Packard, you have some cool motors there. I couldn’t afford to run them here in the UK though with gas at about $10 a gallon!
