David’s Bagged A3 on Radi8 Wheels
My good friend and frequent contributor to the blog David Venezia recently won a new set of Radi8 R8S5 wheels at Occupy Big Bear and I realized I’ve never featured his car here before – big oversight! Over the past few years I’ve watched David take his A3 from mostly stock to what you see now, and the most impressive part is that he’s done most of the work himself, including installing the air ride which is no small feet. The new wheels really complete the build and set the stance off, so it’s well deserved and overdue for this car to have its own feature here.
David isn’t JUST a car enthusiast though – first and foremost he’s an excellent photographer and videographer. So when David won a new set of wheels, he didn’t just put a few grainy pics on Instagram #nofilter…no, he made a movie instead. Then he took a bunch of great pics, and I suppose he eventually posted them on Instagram too (follow him at @rebelxtnut on IG to check those out).
Besides the air ride and wheels, David has a RS4 replica grille, Cupra R lip, clear corners, plasti-dipped rear view mirrors, a hatch spoiler, and a few other subtle exterior mods to complete the look – it’s hard to believe this car is 10 years old, but it is. The car has a number of other mods inside and out to make it a well rounded car that is still suitable for daily driving, including the Airlift Performance Slam Series 2 bags with Airlift v2 management.
The new wheels along with the low, low stance of air ride round off the great Euro look of the A3 hatchback and make me wish they still made a hatch version of the A3 (aside from the e-tron, but maybe that would be a great car to bag!). The 5 door setup makes it perfect for David as a photographer as he can fit a ton of gear in the trunk and still have room for four friends in the car itself.
For performance mods, David has an APR Stage 2 tune, high flow downpipe, 3″ catback exhaust, and cold air intake to really wake up the 2.0T. The A3 also has a DSG transmission which makes this car very fun to drive.
You can check out more of David’s work at http://venezia-photography.com/ and if you live in the Phoenix area and want your car/wedding/engagement/etc. photographed then hit him up for some great pics. David also does all of the photography for the Phoenix, AZ based Parts Score european tuning shop, so be sure to check them out too.
Whoa. Nice!
