New Wheels, New Shots – 19″ BBS CH + Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

Audi A4 on BBS CH Wheels

I recently decided it was time to switch up the look of my car a little and sold my 19″ Rays Engineering Sporttechnic wheels and purchased a new set of wheels I’ve wanted for a very long time – the classic BBS CHs. What I love about these wheels the most is the race inspired looks, and the fact they come as an OEM option for b7 S4s in 18″s – this gives it a very OEM-plus look, which is exactly what I was going for. From my Audi S6 LEDs, to my OEM S4 door blades and S4 Seats, many of my modifications are parts from other Audi cars. The BBS CH wheels are also made in Germany, so they work quite well on an Audi :) The specs on these wheels are 19×8.5″ with an offset of ET35 which fits perfectly flush and looks great. They have the optional BBS Carbon Fiber center caps and are wrapped in 235-35-19 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 wheels – I’ll have a separate review on those tires later once I’ve had more experience with them, but so far I’m very happy with them.

You can buy them at TireRack.com for a good deal, especially if you package them with the tires:

Did you notice any problems with your esp when you upgraded rim size?

  2. Nick says:

Nope, I’ve had 19s for almost 2 years now with no problems with ESP. If you’re worried about it, make sure you run a square setup (in other words, don’t run wider wheels in the back) and change all four tires at a time so they’re even tread depth, and rotate them regularly. But I haven’t really heard of anyone having issues, and have quite a few friends running 19s (and a few even running 20s) without problems.

I love ur 19? BBS CH Black Edition; where can i get those?
how can I identify if they are authentic or not?

  5. Wing says:

    how much are they?

  6. Nick says:

Hi Wing – you can get them from Tire Rack or a number of websites really. If you are buying used, you definitely need to be careful of replicas – the authenic ones will have “Motorsport” engraved in a circle around the lug nuts, and have “JIL” looking logo on the outer lip. You will also see some numbers engraved on the outer lip too. For the black editions, they’ll also have stainless steel (removable) lips if they’re authentic, whereas most reps do not.

cool info, I have never tried to MOD my car; and I did it after I read your MOD. :)

I am thinking to get either the wheels or Carbonio B7 A4 2.0T Carbon Fiber Air Intake System. does the Intake system really make a difference?

  8. Wing says:

how much did you spend on the black edition?
what is the price range of a using set?

  9. Nick says:

The intake doesn’t make a huge difference performance wise, but it does sound a lot cooler (giving that wooshing/turbo noise). It also looks cool. I would go for an APR Stage 1 tune before the intake though, if you want performance gains.

I typically see a set of used BBS CH wheels in 19″ Audi fitment go for about $1500, give or take.

  10. Wing says:

what is the process of APR Stage 1 tune? parts, cost & labor?

  11. Nick says:

I think $599 and a nominal fee for the install.
