Pictures of My Audi A4 Racing at the Track!

I participated in my first track event this month at Phoenix International Raceway with the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) - it was a blast! The event was coordinated through NASA Arizona Chapter and I enrolled in the HPDE 1 (High Performance Driver Event) for beginners, which consisted of both classroom instruction and 1 on 1 instruction in the car. The instruction was top notch and everyone was super nice and helpful. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to become a better driver – you learn safety tips as well as a better understanding of vehicle dynamics, approaching turns, braking, accelerating, tires & grip, etc. Here is a description of HPDE 1 from NASA’s website:

This is where you begin. This is one on one guidance from experienced racers, as you learn to control your car and yourself. Your mentor will provide you with guidance as you learn to drive at the limit. You will address how to approach a turn, the fast way around it, what gear should you be in, how to brake, and how to exit. The session generally includes a lead-follow session. Passing is very limited in the Group 1 Sessions.

Here are a few pictures of my friend Sophia’s APR Stage 3 B7 Audi A4 tearing up the track – it is equipped with a Garrett GT2871 Turbo and puts down 400+ HP along with her other performance modifications.
