2014 Quattro de Mayo in Arizona

I happened to be back in Arizona this past weekend for the Audi Club of Arizona’s annual “Quattro de Mayo” car show, hosted by my good friends at Goodspeed Performance Lab in Scottsdale. This event has always been one of my favorites that the club puts on, as it attracts a nice variety of Audis from across the state.

This year brought out a lot of B5s and 2.7Ts, which was really cool. Above was a very rare “Olympic Blue” allroad that was a special edition for the Salt Lake City winter Olympics, next to a Nogaro Blue B5 S4. The allroad is currently for sale, although it’s equipped with an automatic transmission – this would be a neat car to pickup and swap to a manual transmission into.

The event was really fun for me personally as I got to see a lot of old friends and familiar faces since leaving Arizona a little less than a year ago. One of those familar faces was my friend Blake and his RS4 pictured above, which I wrote about here – so check that out.

Goodspeed had all of their facilities open and it was great to see their business doing well and growing. The owner Jon also picked up a new TT as a daily driver which looked great, and completed his build on his A6 with RS6 turbos on a built 2.7T engine. Goodspeed is both an APR and JHM dealer, so if you’re an Audi fan they’re definitely on your radar; they also have an AWD MAHA dyno, and did the majority of my work when I lived in the area.

In addition to a bunch of well sorted B5s, there was not just one but two well sorted URS4s, both black and nicely modified. No Audi event is complete without a few I5 engines – and it was cool seeing these and a pair of TT-RSs next to each other, combining the new and old school inline fives into one really awesome parking lot.

I’ll let the pics do the rest of the talking, but a big thanks to Goodspeed Performance Lab and Audi Club of AZ.
