Sean’s B7 A4 Avant “DATWAGN”
Q: What’s better than a nicely modded B7 sedan?
A: A nicely modded B7 avant.
Sean Davis is the owner of this super clean B7 A4 wagon, known on the forums and Instagram as “DATWAGN” which also happens to be his license plate. Sean is a fellow San Diegan, and after seeing his car at a few local events I reached out to him for a feature here – he teamed up with Just Average Photography and his buddy Jacob Beal (@thxem) to get some really creative pictures, which I can now share with you all here.
Sean’s mod list is pretty extensive – he’s not done with it yet though, eventually considering bags (static, for now), three piece wheels, an exhaust and maybe a lip. But no project is ever “done,” and Sean has been focusing his efforts in all of the right places with a slew of nice upgrades to the interior, exterior, and suspension.
Mod List:
- Custom LED OEM bi-xenon headlights made by Phil (fly300kts on AZ)
- B6 S4 White/Black Recaro seats up front
- ST coilovers, with 7″ Hyperco Springs in the rear (750lbs)
- Custom made rear spring perches (made by Josh Owen on audizine)
- Avant Garde M220 wheels (18×9 et38 stock, final et with spacers is 26)
- M14 – M12 stud conversion and gold muteki tuner lug nuts
- Adam’s Rotors
- APR stage 1 tune
- Podi voost gauge
- 034 rear swaybar
- 034 turbo inlet pipe, wrapped in gold tape
- Rear wiper delete
- SPP tip mod with JDM bubble shift knob
- USP license plate LED’s
- Color matched sidemarkers
Car History
The car is definitely on the “stance” side of the car modding spectrum. I have no intentions on making the car fast, after all it is a big heavy mom car haha. “Low and Slow” is my motto with this car. I’ll continue to push the envelope with how low I can go and what wheel fitments i can run to make it look as good as possible. I’m currently at 23.25″ FTG, static, and plan on going even lower in the very near future (once i can afford a skinnier set of tires to stretch). An exhaust will most likely be my next big mod, but my main future plans for the car are air bag suspension and new wheels. I wouldn’t say i’m picky with wheels, but I like to keep things fresh. These Avant Gardes will be on my car for maybe a year at the most, until i can afford 3-piece wheels. Its been a dream of mine to bag the wagon so im trying as hard as possible to save up for Accuair e-level suspension.
About the Owner
There’s absolutely nothing that makes me happier than being complimented on my car. Whether it’s people coming up to me at meets, seeing comments on Instagram, or even just seeing random people check out my car at a stoplight gets me beyond stoked.
