Meissen Blue Audi R8 GT
Seeing an Audi R8 GT is pretty rare – after all, there are just 90 of them imported to the US and 333 worldwide – but seeing one in Meissen Blue…now that’s really rare! Meissen Blue is a classic Porsche color, for those who aren’t familiar with it, making it’s debut on the 1957-1959 Porsche 356s. It’s a very sought-after color among vintage Porsche collectors, and it’s even more rare when it comes to Audis – I don’t think I’ve ever seen a four ringed vehicle in this color, and I gotta say I kinda dig it.
The vehicle is currently for sale at Circle Audi in Long Beach, California for $210,000 (see the listing here). It has just 1,500 miles on it, making it nearly brand new. I’ve started to see more and more used Audi R8 GTs hit the market here in the US, which is suprising given that they were so limited edition, I would have thought most buyers were collectors or enthusiasts that planned to keep the cars a long time. The Daytona Grey R8 GT I previously blogged about is on sale for just $184,000, a steal compared to the $250k price tag it originally carried.
This Meissen Blue R8 GT appears to be fully optioned out with the Bang & Olufsen sound system, the carbon ceramic brakes and other options. It originally carried a $235,230 MSRP, and most R8 GTs sold at or above the MSRP given their exclusivity, so buying this car for around $200-210,000 would be saving quite a bit of coin for merely 1,500 miles on the odometer.
What do you think – do you like the color or is it too much? Enjoy the rest of the pics and leave your comments here or on Facebook. If you’re interested in buying the car, hit up Circle Audi and don’t delay as I can’t imagine this car will last too long!
pretty nice to see a different color. wouldnt be my 1st pick though.
