Porsche 991 Coolant Expansion Tank Cap for Audi B6/B7

IMG_1358

I was casually browsing eBay the other day and saw a Porsche coolant tank cap that I had been wanting for some time now to compliment my R8 oil cap so I picked it up on a whim. I had this part on my wish list at ECS for quite some time, but with over $10 shipping at ECS it just wasn’t worth the price to me.  eBay has them for $44 shipped and no tax, a pretty good deal that would allow me to complete the look of my engine bay with some loose change in my PayPal account. This mod fits any B6/B7 Audi A4, S4, or RS4, and is a much more cost effective option than the R8 coolant tank caps which are over twice the price at around $100…as you’ll see in the pics, this part matches my R8 oil cap just fine, despite it being a Porsche part and not Audi.

The Porsche part number is 99110645701 and like I said before, is easiest/cheapest to find on eBay, although can be bought anywhere that sells OEM Porsche parts like your local dealership. To install, simple unscrew the original cap and screw the new cap in – no tools needed, just your hands and some light pressure.

For comparison’s sake, the picture above is the original blue plastic cover – as you can see, it’s a small part but really improves the look of the engine bay. Any questions? Leave a comment!
